Meghann Foster is running for the Iowa Senate to represent District 43, serving Coralville, North Liberty, Solon, and West Iowa City. She is the former Mayor of Coralville and brings more than eight years of experience in local government, grounded in a lifelong commitment to service, community, and showing up where it matters.
Meghann’s public service has always been hands-on and people-centered. Before holding elected office, she was deeply involved as a community volunteer. Throughout her years of public service, she has consistently championed affordable housing, access to social services, and thoughtful growth that puts people first.
Meghann holds a B.A. from the University of Iowa and an M.A. from Washington State University. She lives in Coralville with her husband and their five children, an experience that shapes her understanding of the challenges families face and reinforces her belief in service as a responsibility to one another. As she runs for the Iowa Senate, Meghann is focused on bringing practical, community-informed leadership to Des Moines and being a strong, steady voice for District 43.
